Location
The plot
The plot has a total area of approx. 16 hectares (160,000 m2). The plot is actually a small mountain, where the 3 stone ruins are located at the top of the mountain. From here the terrain slopes slightly to the southwest.
The plot is located at the end of a forest road close to a small monastery Santuario della Pieve. You reach the plot along an approx. 500 meter long forest road, after which the plots and the landscape open up to the southwest. To the northeast you can see the town of Ponzone on a mountain ridge. The plot is located approx. 400 meters above sea level.
Local area
The town of Ponzone is less than 2 km away. In the town you will find a butcher, grocer, pharmacy, a café with a fantastic view and a small hotel with a good restaurant.
Down the mountain is the town of Cartosio with a similar selection of small shops and a Michelin recommended restaurant - Ristorante Cacciatori.
There are approx. 15 km to the nearest larger city, Acqui Terme, with approx. 35,000 inhabitants.
It is approx. 45 km/1 hour drive to the Italian Mediterranean coast and the town of Albisola, where Asger Jorn lived, and whose house is now a museum.
The landscape etc.
The plot consists of a varied landscape with open areas, trees, including oak trees and former agricultural areas, which have now become forest.
The climate
In summer there is a nice, pleasant dry climate, typically with daytime temperatures around 25-30 degrees and night temperatures around 20-25 degrees.
In winter there can be snow, which usually disappears within a few days.
